House Finches (Males)
Tupelo wood with acrylic paints
14″ tall on a 5″ base

Item #B-57

Price: $650

House Finches are common backyard birds and especially love using your bird feeder…sometimes to the exclusion of everyone else! The males have bright chests which can vary in color but are always much brighter than the drab-colored females. Finches are seed eaters, thus the strong beak, and will finish off a feeder full of sunflower seeds in no time at all! With this carving, I tried to capture one bird reaching to the sky in the early morning to greet the rising sun and the other bird looking to the side at whatever that day will bring.
